kevinvs Feb 26, 2010 07:52 PM

My albino apparently has a prolapsed vent and I am unsure what to do and I cant find much information on it. Can anyone give me some advice?

I've had a few snakes with prolapsed hemipenes when I worked at a pet store years ago. Soaking the snake in sugar water usually worked.

Do you know what it is that prolapsed? I took an 05 female Nicaraguan boa to the vet last week for a prolapsed uterus. My vet got it back in there, only charged me $60.

If you dont know what it is you may want to take it to a vet if you can, keep the prolapse moist with ky jelly until you can get it there.

Good luck

Years ago I had a GTP with the same problem. I was told to gently mist the lower half of the snake with cool (not cold) water. And it retracted back in rather quickly. But a vet is always the best suggestion if your experience is limited. Good luck keep us posted.
