New babies

draybar Sep 20, 2003 07:42 PM

Well, after we adopted our first Bearded Dragon, a three legged little character we named Dimmel, my wife was hooked. The wonderful woman we adopted Dimmel from hatched some babies out so we got two little females from her.
So here are a few pictures.
First is Dimmel:

next we have a picture of both babies on their basking rock:

next is the smaller of the two...for now Baby 1:

And last but not least the larger of the two...Baby 2:

Thanks!
I have kept turtles for years and years and I have kept snakes off and on all of my life but I must say that Bearded dragons have to be my favorite reptiles. They are much more interesting and personable then I ever thought they would be.
The closest to them would have to be my Red-Foot Tortoise...he will follow me around the yard.
My wife was kind of indifferent to the turtles, she liked to watch them but had no desire to care for them.
Once she got used to the snakes she enjoyed the beautiful colors and will even handle them but once again no real desire to care for them....
Then came the bearded dragon...she is now a seriously dedicated "beardie mom"....lol. These guys are her babies. She makes sure that everything is perfect for them.
It is great to have something that we can BOTH enjoy completely.
sorry to ramble

Hey Reiko,
Along with the abssesed leg that had to be amputated below the knee he was also suffereing from MBD ( but not too bad yet thankfully) when my rehaber friend in Florida got him.
Due to this his mouth still doesn't align perfectly but it hasn't slowed him down at all. We are giving him his calcium with D3 and his vitamins on a regular basis and he has more then doubled in size in the month or so we have had him.
