correct me if i'm wrong, i'm definitely a beginner, umm, with how dark he is, isn't that a sign of being stressed?
No, in leos, skin changes occur when they're shedding, like in this case, it looks as if this leo's shedding. The color turns into dull look if the leo's suffering from malnutrition, extreme stress, or diseases and sicknesses. But from the looks of this leo, it looks quite healthy to me. Leos aren't like anoles, so their color change isn't very visible.
