Digital scale question...

SouthernSerpent Mar 01, 2010 04:02 PM

We are trying to find a good set of digital scales for our record keeping. Any recommendations on brand and models?

I use a Salter model 6300 kitchen scale purchased from Bed Bath & Beyond. It costs about $45 and displays in ounces & grams. It was recommended by someone on this site, I believe Doug Mong.

Reptile Basics has a selection of scales. Rich is very easy to do business with and has good prices. He has great prices on t-stats and other equipment as well. I have always been impressed with his quick delivery. Spend your money with someone who is involved with the herp community rather than the average retailer.

I've never bought a scale from him, but I wanted to say I have worked with this business as well with excellent results. Easy and friendly to work with, accommodating, good prices, fast delivery.

For a scale off of their website, I would recommend this one RepBasic Scale (hopefully that isn't banned). I like the fact that it takes AAA batteries, so you have the option of using Lithium, or an A/C adapter. My biggest problem with the scales I have used is how quickly they go through those tiny watch batteries they require.

Sorry, wrong link! That scale is the smaller version. This scale is what you would need for BPs.
