SnakeCharmer77 Mar 01, 2010 09:44 PM

hey...does anybody know what the reptile laws of OK are? are there any snakes that are illegal? all i could find is that you have to have a license if youre going to breed/sell as a business....
am i missing something? if anybody has any links that i could go check out on this topic that would be great...
thanks.

Depends on what city you live in...

Tulsa
www.cityoftulsa.org -- search for ordinances and it will pull up the whole list. Mostly venomous species, including a few rear fanged, mild guys like Mangroves. Also not allowed are crocs and gators, etc....
As for biz stuff -- inside city limits you cannot run a biz out of a home, but there are some fine print details that would allow you to do reptiles in your home...

OKC
http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stusokodoklahomacity_sallisaw.htm#sart6div1

That was all I have for OKC and there isn't anything about reptles.

I know Iguanas to be illegal in Stillwater and beyond that I don't know-- if I need the info, I call the animal control office in that town...
As for biz info.. contact the chamber of commerce... I wouldn't come right out and say you breed snakes and want to sell them from your home as that causes a stir, maybe just ask broad questions and see if you get your info that way.

good luck, and let me know what you find out.

Ok laws are very strict you must have a permit for everything AND IF YOU BRING ANY SNAKES IN TO THE STATE YOU NEED IMPORT PERMITS AND IF YOU SELL OUT OF STATE YOU NEED EXPORT PERMITS EASY TO GET BUT YOU NEED THEM
