question on breeding

xxdean057xx Mar 02, 2010 12:46 AM

will all females go into shed before they are gravid or give birth? I have a female that I havent fed since late september and inroduced a male that look like thing were copulating for oct-jan then the male lost interest . The female was really swollen when I introduced the male and since I took male out a couple of weeks ago, the female looks like she got a little smaller but still girthy and NO SHED YET!!!

Is this normal?

No, not all of them 'follow the rules'.

So far all of mine have had a POS but I heard of some females that don't shed after Ovulation (they normally shed 18-21 days after ovulation). Some females will have a mid-term shed half way through gestation. Most will then shed again after giving birth (they do not have a pre-lay shed like pythons.)
Good luck!
