Life spam super jungles

MIchaelfm Mar 03, 2010 11:26 AM

I have heard that Super Jungles have a 5 to 6 year life span.I am looking to poss buy one but not at the risk of spending a mint only for it to die. Is this true? Thanks Mike Masters

I dont know about super jungles, but I bought a 5 year old male jungle for 5k ( a couple years ago) and it died 6 months later (the only snake I ever had die on me)...but I'm sure there are others who have had jungles last longer. The male I bought, just went limp, like he became paralized, the guy I bought him from told me to just put it in the freezer , I had it humanely put down by my vet. That was a 5k lesson the hard way...on top of my 8k lesson ...wow...well I digress...
Im still curious if any one ever had super jungles succesffuly reproduce?

Just to put a point on those lessons..I learned you cant buy time and effort, if you want a adult male jungle buy a healthy baby and grow it up yourself...If you want True double hets , make them yourself....Wont make those mistakes again.

This below Link discusses the first publicly known Gravid Super Jungle

As far as any folks I know have heard this hasn't happened before

I can't speak for what has happened in certain breeders facilities
who don't share results

Ovulating fem "SJ"

Gravid Fem "SJ"

I am hoping all goes well for that breeding. It will be cool to see the results...cant wait.

I would like to see updated pics on all the cool stuf from the past couple years..like super mot's, albino super mot's, all the new VPI t pos stuff, the paraglow jungle's and what not...Be cool if we could hire a top notch HD film crew to go all over the country and film , in depth all the cool boas in the collections out there. No editing just show it all....put out a cool DVD called "American Boa"..or something cool like that!

You should have had that animal examined. Some signs of IBD are limp body, muscle loss, unable to correct its self, star gazing. That stuff is no joke and if the guy who sold it to you has ibd in his collection and is sellin people sick animals that is just not right.

This is a male Super Aztec breeding an albino. This was the first year he was big enough. Andrew and myself were pleasantly shocked to see what an aggresive breeder he is.
