Here's what I do. I take 2 glass plates, each being 9 3/4" x 8"
Place both plates on the inner lip of the top of the 10 gallon. slide the side by side so that there is a gap on one end. Next, take the plate that isn't gapped and raise the inner edge and slide the other plate under it about a quarter of an inch or so and lay the other plate back down so that it is overlapping and resting on this piece. Next, take 2 layers of fiberglass screen and tape them over the gap with electrical or duct tape (electrical will look better). Make sure that the lower plate remains stationary and doesnt move at all. Next silicone a knob or anything to act as a handle onto the sliding plate (I use 20 oz soda bottle caps). Once the silicone is dry you should be able to slide that plate over the other plate giving you enough room to mist and feed the inhabitants. I hope this explanation is clear enough (I'm not too good at explaining things). If you or anyone else has any further questions, feel free to post them here or email me. Good luck!
