Public Hearing Thursday, March 11, 10:15 AM AB-793, if passed will seriously
impact 14th amendment rights. Similar to the Louisville law that was struck
down recently, this legislation allows for seizure bonds for animals taken
before a conviction. If an individual was not able to post a bond, the
legislation would allow for the animals to be placed.

Ok Eric, job for you! I will try to get confirmation on my end as well.

One of the hardest parts with reptile abuse is that they are not really considered pets per say in our state. I cant remember the exact wording to be honest as it has been a few years since I had to deal with it, but they qualify under a live stock heading in most cases is how I understand it.

Would this apply merely to companion animals or all animals in human care?

This would include reptiles and amphibians since they fall under the definition of "animal" under Chapter 951 of the WI Animal Cruelty statutes.

This "SEIZURE" thing really upsets me the most. This could end up being very dangerous. I'm trying to picture this happening to me, and it is a very horrable thought. I guess it could very as to who would do it,State or Federal agents. Maybe we should start a fund, or be ready to help whoever this "will" happen to sometime soon.
This is a nightmare in the making. What can we do about it in this POST AMERICA fight for our rights when the Law and its accomplest are corrupt. Us Old timers "The gray whiskers genaretion" have come to far and gone through to much to let it be taken away from us. I ask! What can we do. Vic Morgan.......

I can tell you what happened here in California years ago. Death rates of 80% of the reptiles seized and held. If any of us killed animals like the state of California did we would still be in jail! Hundreds taken and only a hand full lived even when returned because of the lack of proper care they recievied. I believe all the eggs taken dried out.

Look out Vic, the villagers are coming up the hill with torches in hand!
That's why I moved out here to nowhere'sville U.S.A., and Damned if they didn't just bust some poor woman for having too many dogs, right here in this rinky-dink little town of less than 700 people.
Nowhere is it safe. That's the God's honest truth.
Insanity is everywhere.
