Got a Glades Today

KMAT Mar 09, 2010 09:47 PM

This guy came in today and is pretty calm for a Glades. He is a cb08 male from WC parents I got from DTS.

You'll love it. Mine is the most interactive snake in my collection, extremely curious and inquisitive. I suggest giving it some time out on occasion or at least a view if possible. They are not milksnakes

Thanks Monklet. Thats one of the reasons I specifically got the glades. Cool looks and more outgoing. I plan to set him up in a vertically oriented cage of sorts to let him use his climbing abilities more than a corn or king would!!

I admit I'm a relative newbie here but having had at least a couple years experience with rates, I just can't think of them in a tub...just to curious and outgoing.

cochran Mar 10, 2010 04:51 PM

That's funny that you'd say that! I feel the same way about the tub.lol! I have a pr. of hypos and they are behind glass! Jeff

He's nice Kevin! I'm still waiting on my female and it's 5:47 here in Va.The UPS site says it's out for delivery! Jeff

This little girl arrived right after I typed that last comment! She is very laid back but curious! Jeff

Now that is sweet! She's gonna be a heart breaker I'm telling you!

That gal is nice for sure!! My guy was a bit rambunctious tonight and was hissing and tail rattling when I checked on him while pairing some corns. I need to make it a point to handle him more to keep him mellow. Also, I think setting him up in a glass enclosure will help.

Very cool Kevin!. Hey, did he happen to tell you what area the W/C parents were from?

Congrats!

Doug, I do not. I believe Dan at DTS did have that posted on his ad, but I am not great at keeping track of that info . I will email Dan as I am sure it could be important for future breeding efforts and validity of its "Gladeness" LOL!

DMong Mar 12, 2010 11:18 PM

Oh yeah!,......gotsta keep track of the validity of the "gladeness"..LOL!

Good luck with it bro!

I found out his parents were from Lake Okeechobee, Hendry County south of the lake.

DMong Mar 14, 2010 05:35 PM

Yes, that is quite the rossalleni "hot-spot" for sure. My male's mother(and possibly the father too) were from Hendry county.

Glad you were able to find that stuff out!
