I saw an ad for someone selling a savannah monitor that was supposedly a different color phase besides the normal color. Are there really different color phases? I've worked with many reptiles but I don't really follow genetics so I'm curious.

None that fall outside of the normal wild type. Many have pastel, lighter or darker shading, but that is normal, and not worth more than a couple of dollars more for a "choice pick".
Except for the Albinos, and those aren't advertised.

Ok thanks. This guy was wanting $75 plus shipping for a Ruby Savannah Monitor. I'm not interested in breeding, I used to voluteer at a rescue that had an awesome savannah and its been several years since I've been over there so I've been thinking about getting one.
That is the same animal and color as a $25 Savannah. But $50 more : )
