Pics. of this mornings litter

robertmcphee Mar 11, 2010 09:59 AM

Im very happy with the way these guys turned out. I have been wanting to do this breeding for quite awhile. I wanted to put the CA Motley back into the Panamanian blood to produce the "purest" Panamanian Motleys available.....(since thats where the CA Motley started).
I am having a bit of trouble picking out some of the motleys though. I can pick out the few obvious ones, but the others are difficult especially the hypos. I didn't expect the F1 hypos to be so light....
Tell me what you think, and how many Motleys you see....Im curious what everyone else sees in the pics. There are 7 non-hypos and 13 hypos.

Those hypos look very interesting.

I'm curious, do you think you could tell the difference beteeen
a CA and a pure columbian neonate?

I guess the CA would be smaller & darker & maybe have more
saddles, but other than that?

robertmcphee Mar 11, 2010 10:21 AM

I really don't know. I have had several litters some pure Central and they vary almost as much as the "Colombian/Morph" litters.
These babies are roughly 75% Panamanian 25% Nicaraguan/Unknown Central American....

Looking good Bob, I see a few in there that I'd keep

I thought the CA motleys are thought to have come from Nicaragua?

From what I have read Alex at Boa Republic stated that the original animals were of Panamanian Decent....I may be wrong and I am very interested in any information anyone has....

Interesting...the story I heard was that he got them from Gaz in the UK. The box was reportedly marked "Nicaragua."

but different label on the box....Maybe someone that has first hand knowledge will come forward...lol.
I always figured that the Sutherlands had the only Nicaraguan Motleys...They called them "Red Motleys" before they called the Incans.
It would seen that if the CA Motley came from the Nicaraguans, i would expect them to resemble the Incans more closely....I wonder if Dan and Collette has produced a "Super" Incan, and if it resembled a Super Motley.....Hmmmm

I was just about to email Alex and Gaz...to see what they each have to say...

It wouldn't suprise me if there were Nic motleys that didn't look like the Sutherlands. Look at all the Nics that come in with reverse striping that closely resemble the CA motleys in coloration.
