hi guys..this past weekend i bought a 08 male pastel from a breeder at a local reptile expo. i check him out for about 45min before i bought him and have bought other snakes from the same guy with no problems. i got him home sat night and even feed him, he ate no ploblem....yesterday i check on him and notice he had hes mouth open and a little bit of bubbles around his mouth.
i know what this means( respiratory infection) and i think it coulda happened on the way back to the truck after i bought him cause he was just in a snake bag...i know i should have used a box too, but i messed up cause it was only 40 windy and rainy..any advise to nursing him back to health without a vet? really cant afford it right now, and i have raised the heat in hes tube.......thanks for any advise

You're not going to give him a RI walking to your car! If he's blowing bubbles, it was on it's way before you purchased him! BTW, do you have him on shavings?? Reason I ask, is because I once had a Argentine Rainbow that would bubble up on aspen, but would be fine on newspaper!

Hes on newspaper...snakes eat if they have a ri? I just thought thats when it might of happened on the way back to the truck and it started hitting him the next day because i he ate for me the first night....thanks

I'm assuming that the bubbling is persistent and not just a little regurgitated water? Have to ask you'd be surprised at how many people don't know the difference.

If you just got him within the past few days and he is in full blown RI he was likely sick before you got him tho it's possible he picked up a bug from the show - cold itself won't make him sick it would be a virus or bacteria that hes picked up maybe combined with the the stress of the show, the cold and new home stress weakening his immune system.

If he's to the point where he is bubbling you'll need meds which will mean a vet trip. Contact the seller and discuss it further with him maybe he'll take the snake back or help you with bet bills.
