Gravid Anery had a bloody discharge?

cryptojeep Mar 16, 2010 12:24 AM

This is our second litter and I have not seen this before our gravid female is due any time now but this morning she had a bloody (pink) jellybean looking discharge about the size of your thumb is this normal? Is there anything I should do. I read something about it once but I am unable to find the article. Thank you any info would help.

Sounds to me like she passed a slug. This may happen sometimes before a female drops her litter.

It could be a small slug but what I think it might be is the mucous plug

I believe the mucous plug is usually what's discharged with the Waxy stool

In this case I believe no Waxy stool

Obviously this is just a guess , let us know what results you have ?

As long as there is not alot of bright red blood
or worse yet alot of deep darker colored blood

I think she should be OK
