Chocolate Sharp ALBINO 1yr old

jsschrei Mar 17, 2010 12:28 PM

I got this chocolate Sharp albino girl from Dan Brown a year ago and she's changed quite a bit, so I thought I'd share.

Here she is at a few months old:

And yesterday (no color enhancement was done to these photos, and they look like she does in real life):

Thanks for looking!

That's a great looking sharp, much nicer than a chocolate IMHO...

a couple years... Here is my chocolate girl she is 3 yrs old now
but first pic @ 2yrs

sorry my camera sucks pic @ 3yrs

That's a gorgeous boa. I thought chocolates stayed dark and
didn't have that kind of color.

jsschrei Mar 17, 2010 10:04 PM

They are not "Chocolates", from what I understand chocolates are. They are just a very orange version of Sharp albino that look like they have chocolatey markings as babies.

Dan, maybe you can explain more???

I believe "chocolate" came from Salmon Boa a couple of yrs ago, when they produced some chocolate sharps. I believe they had some blood boa in the mix (not sure). Chocolate is not a proven line, but more of a way to describe the animal. It appears that they become very orange and bright as they grow. The sharp sunglows that appear chocolate may have a chance to be genetic in my opinion. My female het sharp has produced these chocolate looking sunglows in 3 seperate breedings from 2 different males. I would love to see pics of other "chocolte looking" sunglows, that have been produced by other breeders, but I havent seen any to date. I hope to breed a chocolate back to the mom some day.

If you scroll down the page I posted 1.1 Sharp Sunglows and 0.1 Sharp Albino I got from Dan last summer.
Thanks,
Rick

I saw, they are nice! That's why I took recent pics of this girl to share.
I also bought one of her brothers (regular Sharp, not "chocolate" version), but he is in shed right now. He is looking awesome too, but this girl has an insane amount of orange.

Your's is very nice! Mine look better in person. I'm using a point and shoot Kodak camera. One day I will have to buy a better camera.

AbsoluteApril Mar 18, 2010 02:34 PM

everything I like about sharps is right there in your girl! that is a beauty! It always amazes me how different they look after a couple years. Your girl has some really amazing oranges, just lovely!

Here's my sharp (what? I have a sharp? ssshhhh), wish I knew what she had looked like as a baby. I wonder if mine is a 'typical' sharp and the chocolate trait is what gives yours all the color in the body saddles? neat stuff!

I have an '07 het sharp gal from Dan that I still gotta get some pics up of.

Thanks for sharing your eye candy!

This was her as a baby. The pic kinda sux but you can get an idea. That crisp white just took over as she grew.

you're my hero!
thanks man!

ps I named her Sunkist, you know me, I name them all LOL

AbsoluteApril Mar 18, 2010 03:26 PM

I forgot to ask, are you going to be going to the San Mateo next month?

RuBeN14 Mar 18, 2010 03:58 PM

I want to I just don't know if I can get one of the days off. I'll let you know once I get figured out. Hope I don't have to miss it.

BrandonSander Mar 19, 2010 05:23 AM

Here you two go. Ruben I cleaned up/enhanced your pic to remove all of that excess blue - this is most likely a truer representation of her real colors.

I could clean it up more, but the file was small and touch ups are usually a balancing act - too little and it's a pointless endeavor, too much and you risk actually making the photo worse than when you began.

BTW... I know a lot of people get all up in arms about photo retouching, but there is a HUGE difference between photo correction where a person is attempting to fix the picture to better reflect true life versus "PhotoShopping" where a person is attempting to create something that doesn't exist. I completely support the former and believe the latter should only be done for fun and should always be disclosed.

I'm still not sure if it's weird that my best friend is a two year old boa named Ronin. He's quiet, non-judgemental and listens... what more could you want?

RuBeN14 Mar 19, 2010 09:32 AM

Cool! Thanks Brandon!

jsschrei Mar 18, 2010 03:30 PM

April, she is stunning! I love all of that contrast.

Dan wrote an expaination farther up in this post about the "chocolate".

Full body pics of your "chocolate" as a baby?
Heres a pic of my girl as a baby just want to see
if all "chocolates" look the same as babies

and here she is @ 6months

jsschrei Mar 18, 2010 05:32 PM

Here is one of her and her full brother. Shows the contrast. These photos are a little weak on color. The black backrounds wash them out on camera.

The browner one is the girl. Yours has much more brown than mine did as a baby. I'd love to see photos of yours at a year...keep me in mind
