3 Questions...

1. Anyone breed successfully without doing a light cycle??

2. I use paper towels as substrate for my snakes. But my collection is now getting in the high 20s. What does everyone use as substrate at this level? BTW my snakes are in my living room in racks.

3. Can I see pictures of female balls that are near laying to compare to my females?

Pick her up, if she's gravid, she'll have a big, round belly, not flat. Figure eggs are as big as chicken eggs.

Thanks for all the responses. I will know better in a few weeks. That is when 2 of the girls should lay. I had another female tonight who I didn't introduce a male in with til December ovulate I believe as well.

Yes. We currently use sani chips and like them very much. Get a copy of the Seward/Sutherland ball python DVD here on the classifieds, it covers breeding in good detail including visuals like palpating and shed/lay cycles. Very helpful if you haven't seen it in person before.
