Like father, .....like son!

DMong Mar 20, 2010 02:47 PM

Here is just one of the "high-yellow" brooks youngster's from last year's clutch. He is basically the mirror image of his father at about the very same age.

Here is a pic of the father to the above juvenile from a long time ago.

And here is what he turned out to look like later as an adult!.....an absolute SMOKER!!!. I can only imagine how insane some of these youngster's are going to end up looking like as adults!....wooohoo!

I'd never guess that those babies would turn out to look like that adult! They really do go through a big color change. Very nice by the way.

Thanks!,.......

Yes, quite the ontogenetic change for sure!

Doug,

Seeing the before and after pics of the father/adult male breeder, compared to his kiddo, was really enjoyable to say the least!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

It really is a treat to see these pics, especially since your brooks ( and Bob S.'s hypo ) were the influence in myself purchasing my hypo brooks female this past year. I also love how you were able to trace the actual lineage and full story as well, of your high yellow brooks pair. That fact alone I know is special to ya!!

Keep posting pics and showing them off!!

My pleasure Billy, and thanks bro!. I am REAL happy that you scored that awesome "Love-line" hypo from John. That is one beautiful hypo specimen if I ever saw one dude, simple as that.

Yes, the striking similarity that juvenile has to his father when he was that age is just phenomenal!. Another one looks identical to the mother as well when she was a youngster. And "Fraz"?,...well, as you know, he is definitely in a league all of his own..LOL!!

The others are mind-blowing too with extremely high reds and oranges, with yellows starting to show through, as is their interband speckling.

I will post some others sometime soon.

later, ~Doug
