Tips feeding baby dragons greens?

dragonzilla Mar 22, 2010 08:25 PM

I need tips on getting my baby dragon to eat it's greens and vegetables? I try to feed him romaine, collard, mustard, and carrot shavings. He just won't eat it, I even put a few mealworms mixed in and he picked out the mealworms. I hope someone has a good tip. Any idea might help.
Thanks for helping

Try this,it has worked for me with 1000's. Buy the turnip mustard greens [ collards are hard for babies unless you FINELY shred them, same with carrots] Tear them into tiny pieces and DROP them in the cage,if you use any type of substrate, drop them on to a paper plate so nothing sticks. Unfortunately many breeders read that babies are picky so they wait until theyr'e older but mine all,and I mean all, love greens and will eat them twice a day this way. They are attracted to the movement when you drop it in. Hope this works for you.

I agree. I have never seen a baby turn down greens. Some times fussy eaters will go more for the curly softer stuff like turnip. I would cut out the romain. I use the cut and clean greens and do not cut them up. My little ones go crazy for them. Since I dont cut them up, they have a harder time eating them and have to work at it a little bit, but that is the equivelent of ":foraging". Feed them in the morning when they are hungry. That may help.
