Probably wouldn't take! Even though their both "hognoses", they're from 2 different genus'
I have to say, with reptile hybrids, it would not be impossible...
As previous reptile hybrids have already shown, breeding out of genus can be done... Animals far removed from eachother for hundreds of housands of years are still able to hybridize...
One case in point Ball pythons can breed with Condros... 2 different genus, 2 different Continents thousands of miles way from eachother...
Holy crud, a ball to a chondro? Any photos floating around of those results?

I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE ,, WITH HIM, AND KEEP IN MIND THEY ARE NOT CORN SNAKES .
I think it could happen in captivity, but why would anyone want it to happen?
Also, for the record... the plural form of "genus" is "genera".
Cheers,
Chris

Why would anyone want to do it??? Who knows... I guess you can ask anyone who breeds hybrids why they do so... My guess is to create something new and different looking...
Years ago I bred Gaboon/rhino viper hybrids... In my opinion that was not a bad thing to do as this is a natural hybrid and happens quite commonly where their ranges over lap...
Some speculate that hybrids usually adapt well and turn out to be stonger breeders than either pure parent species...
It is also well documented that hybridization is responsible for creating new species... It is like hitting the fast foward button on the evolutionary VCR...
I do not agree with all hybridization BUT, in my opinion, not all hybrids are a bad thing in our hobby... In captivity we throw natural selection out the window anyway... To be true purists in this hobby would mean we would not keep these animals in cages or bins and we would just be observing them in their natural habitat... We would not be doing the breeding selction for them... Nature would be doing so...
None of us can say that producing hybrids is bad, un-natural, or un-ethical... What we do is not very natural either...
lAST YEAR IN EUROPE A CHILDRENS PYTHON WAS CROSSED WITH A CORN AND PRODUCED SOME SNAKES THAT LOOK LIKE A PATTEREND HOUSE SNAKES.tHIS IS A CROSS i DID NOT THINK POSSIBLE BUT IT DID.There is a rumor of a natural timber rattler northern copperhead and I know someone who saw it.It had no rattle yet a partial matrix was there in place of it.I saw nither one but believe the people who told me.I remember when the first king corns were produced.Every one said they would be infertil. No they were not.Snake hybreds have proven fertil in most cases.I would bet that it would and could take. The male would have to be a lysatrophis most likely as you can get 3 or 4 clutches a year and they seem to always be producing viable sperm.I think as a curiosity it would be ok.The problem is most hog nose are pure to some extent and should remain that way.I may be wrong tho where I live 40 miles away you can find easterns and western in the same field and I have never herd of a hybred from them. Please if you do this keep it as a interesting specimen and do not mass produce them.
