Yes you can. In theory you can breed any sub-species together. That being said, it's going to be difficult breeding a micropholis to an elapsoide.

However, I would not reccomend crossing any subspecies. Stick to basics, things will run alot smoother when introducing, your'll have less trouble selling cross's. No doubt you will hear the same from other members.

I think you meant harder to sell, right Scott?

I agree with the guys here. I might have been tempted to do this years ago if that's what I had on hand just to make some babies but it won't be anything special and it will be hard to sell. Can it be done? Yes.

LOL!!, yeah, the "less trouble selling crosses" typo thing was pretty funny to me too..

But Jorge, never mind the trouble selling the silly junk snakes though. I think the very worst part of all is that those crossed snakes produced, and all of their offspring's offspring and so on, and so on, simply go on diluting countless future genepools of genuine subspecies that are still hanging on in collections from all over the country. Once all these crossed up genes from everyone's ridiculous pairings are constantly dispersed into the wild blue yonder of the hobby mainstream, there is no taking them back...period!, they are blended in the mix of things FOREVER. THAT is the real problem to me and many others. Like I have said many times before, it just might get to the point when someday soon nobody even bothers putting a specific name on the deli cup at shows, it will simply read "SNAKE" on the label.

They will breed as readily as Hondo to Hondo or nelsoni to nelsoni. As stated already, you do not have anything to gain by doing it, as the offspring are not as marketable. My advice is to not bother, because it would not be some major or unique accomplishment. It has been done, it is easy to do, and the babies may even be tough to give away yet alone sell.
