peach throat

now that its proven that monitors can have venom. does anyone no if they have tested peach throat monitors. or if all monitors have venom. just curios of what my sub adult might be packing haha. we have a love hate relation ship. i love him he hates me. he dosent run and hide or nothing. i can go in his cage and hes cool. but dont touch him he will make you regret it. its like being maried u can look all you want but if you touch your guna pay.

The venom isn't like that of a cobra or a rattler. it's more to quickly imobilize prey. A bite would really hurt and cause you some throbbing pain maybe.

The teeth of an adult V.jobiensis are your real worry. I have been nipped a couple times by peachies of various size mostly at feeding time and there were no effects beyond the actual physical bite. I only notice the effects of the "venom" with little guys like ackies where the bite hurts quite a bit more than their little teeth should account for.
