Bloated Male Ball Python??

nagrag Mar 27, 2010 08:46 PM

I have a male pastel ball python who has been breeding and off of food for a while. Today when i went to check on the pair, I noticed the male looked very bloated in the rear half of his body. Has anyone ever had something like this happen, or know anything about what it could be and what plan of action to take?

Are you sure it's the male?

A picture would be helpful. Also, when was the last time the male had a bowel movement? Even if he hasn't eaten in awhile he could be holding in alot of fecal matter and is soon to have a really big poop.

Might be a good idea to separate him from the girls and give him plenty of water and a week or so off breeding, to see if he passes anything (providing his all his normal behavior remains fine). A good soak in luke warm water may help move things along too.
