Could you please tell all on this forum a little more about the conditions your dragon is kept in?

Age of dragon?

Weight of dragon?

Overall Size?

Activity level?

How often do you feed? Veggies/insects

Do you dust with supplemental calcium and vitamins? How often?

Water provided daily/weekly?

Appetite level?

Vivarium Size?

Type of basking light?

Type of UVB lighting used is it 2.0,5.0,10.0 and so on?

What is your humidity level % wise? Use a hygrometer to measure.

Do you allow your dragon a weekly soak?

Has this dragon recently seen a veterinarian? Fecal results/Medication prescribed

These are just a few ideas of questions that will greatly help in the answering of your questions.

Many problems can occur which prevent reptiles as a whole from shedding. For instance I have a Silk back and generally have no problems when she sheds as long as I put a few drops of organic vitamin E oil in with her soak water and allow her to soak for about 20min. Easy shed every time.

Your problem is a dragon that is not shedding. Mine was a dragon having a hard time with retained shed. If you can tell us more or all about the conditions in which the dragon is kept. All info will greatly increase the ability of all parties present to help. Sometimes it can be as simple as raising temps, (fixing a lighting problem) and sometimes it can be the sign of a worse underlying problem causing stress on the dragon.

Thank you and I hope we can get to the bottom of this and help you along your way.

Peace, J

Don't be overly worried...dragons don't shed on a fixed schedule...this is not something to get real worried about. When it's time to shed,he'll shed.Just a side point...be careful with all the bathing. Be sure to dry and put him back under the heat lamps immediately. I hear [ at reptile shows] and read about people that bath, then hold the dragon in a towel and snuggle it for a while,as if it were a baby. This chills the dragon who cannot generate any heat, especially after a bath. I see forums where people regularly post about respiratory infections and this may be a contributing factor. Once or twice a week is sufficient if you feel you MUST bathe....and a light spraying on the head with a water bottle will get your dragon to drink if your'e afraid he's not well hydrated,as well as feeding wet greens.

13" seems small for a dragon that weights 350 grams. Is this nose to vent length or nose to tail tip? Was there ever any past injury to the tail? (if the tail was injured in the past and part of it was removed, this certainly would explain why the dragon is short overall, if 13" is the total nose/tail tip length.

As she is nearly a year old, its not unusual for shedding frequency to be greatly reduced as the dragon grows slower once it is near or at the maximum length it can reach.

It sounds like he;'s gotten to a size where he's not growing as fast so he won't shed so often. Some of my adults only shed once a year.

I'd double check your temps. though. Is the 100 an ambient (air) temp.? How are you measuring it? The air temp on the hot side should be about 90 and the cool side should be closer to 75 for a good range of temps. There should be a basking spot (surface) temp. of 105-110. This can be measured with a temp. gun or by putting the temp. probe of a thermometer in the center of the light on the basking surface. A picture of your setup would be helpful.
