Spex Hook-Ups.......

Jlassiter Mar 28, 2010 10:07 PM

I went over to Todd Hughes'(antelope) house today to pick up a wild caught Calhoun County Holbrooki to pair up with my Amel Yellow Speckled female.....When I got home and threw him in with the female he knew what to do right away......

Also...this Definite Double Het for Amel and Whitewall Male hooked up with a Possible het for Whitewall female.....

Very cool John!. I'm betting those normal het amel offspring will be sporting some strong yellow speckling as they mature. Maybe even right off the bat too!

I love that yellow amel! Take good care of her John. I still need a male for my Louisiana spex. I'm hoping Kevin will be able to score one this season

I herped the spillway area the calm female was captured the weekend before this one. Nada!! Are those gals starting to lose that banding and speckle up more?

Yeah a little bit. They are still young and there is plenty of time. I'm not in a hurry man. If you do find one maybe we can work out a deal. But just keep me in mind. Did you see any in the pet shops down there? They used to be everywhere. As for your trip it's probably still a little early. By end of April you should have better luck.

Nope, none at the petshops we checked out in Metairie. None ever here in BR. No one carries them anymore. I think alot of it has to do with the permit required to sell native species. I will keep my eyes open for a male though. Still plenty of time LOL!!

Very cool. Keep us posted on the results of those pairings. That yellow amel is gorgeous!
