Fatal Attraction "Reptiles"

thegentledragon Mar 30, 2010 09:06 PM

This show was so one sided, extreme, and blown out of the water. It made the Idoit keepers of america the poster children for our hobby. From the monitor keeper who let his large species roam freely in his studio apartment...who was then bitten, saw an infection....didn't seek medical attention...died in his apartment five days later due to the infection..... and was then eaten by the free roaming lizards (this goes under too dumb to live, and of course they ate the dead body, they're monitors....its what they do....) to the lady with no venomous reptile experience who mail ordered everything from a diamond back rattlesnake to a gaboon viper, was bitten, and died. well DUH. This show was a discrace. I'm honestly a little ashamed of animal planet. It was more like an episode of Nancy Grace than a documentary about the hobby.

I hear ya.
When is Animal Planet going to do "Fatal Attraction-Dogs"?
No media or politician is willing to admit that canines kill exponentially more people than reptiles ever have.

Oh man I couldn't agree more! I have been constructing a post for my blog which covers this and various other topics which have been aired on national television referring to the "horrors" of reptile keeping. It seems to have gotten more prevalent and pervasive since the whole Giant snake thing has come up for debate. Is it a coincidence? Makes me really wonder who controls the media.
