Hammock

joebob Sep 21, 2003 04:29 PM

Almost my beardie's first birthday. I wanna get him a hammock because i heard beardies love them =). I live in Canada, so if anyone can recommend a good place to order a little lizard hammock on the net that ships to Canada. Also as an aside, is parazap worth it? I heard its good for preventing parasites/worms, but its something like $25 for a jar. And i'm not sure if they ship to Canada either =

Thanks!

For a hammock go to Hammocks
These are by far the best you could get for your lizard! Great person too

Don't know what she would charge you to ship it to Canada, but shouldn't be much more than usual.

Absolutely get a Hammock from Christy...I have them and my dragons love them.

I have been using the parazap for 2 years now and wouldn't go without it......
and yes Val the maker ships it to Canada as well as I do.

Wow ur beardie looks a lot like mine. Come to think of it I should get a new cage before a new hammock. He's 14" and still living in a 33 gallon tank, but I just got a car and also have to pay school fees and such so i'm not very rich. I would appreciate if someone post a website address that shows how to build a good beardie cage.

Don't have a web site link, but drop me a line via email and I can send you a Word document with some plans and instructions for building one for $50 or less.

Hey, go check out the cage building guides at TnCBeardies.com They have everything from the instructions to all the materials needed. Should be able to follow very easily. Good luck with it

Below is a link to The Classy Lizard. This wonderful lady handmakes these hammocks, which are safer for your baby than the commercial brands. I'm not sure how much s/h to Canada would cost, but you can email her from her site & ask. You could also post a msg. here for her; she goes by Christyj.

Also, Parazap is worth the money; not sure how much s/h is for that, either, but I'm sure it can be shipped to you. B22 on this forum is in the Netherlands & I believe he gets it.

I'm really glad everyone loves their hammocks. I feel guilty for all the shameless plugs..lol But not THAT guilty..
Thanx again.

Lisa you can answer some of these, but I need to talk to ChristyJ about a custom one. I always thought about getting those kind but was wondering what they were made out of, and how difficult it is to clean if they poop on them? I have 1 male with a bad habit of going nowhere else but his hammock I know for him the ones with the holes clean easy. I was wondering if they can make different sizes of them, possibly a custom one for Foster, lol. Such a big meat head, he no longer can fit on them and they fall when he tries. I want to get a couple that stretch out the length of the side for some of my very large dragons, and maybe an idea of how to attach them to my melamine enclosures without hammering holes

I'm not Christy or Lisa but......the Christy's hammocks can be washed or spot cleaned, mine come clean easily.....the standard one she sells is pretty big but I'm sure she can make one to your specs just email her......

As far as your melamine cages......get a 3 strips of plexiglass and screw them to the bottom back and top back of your cage...the screws won't be seen and the suction cups do stick to plexi as I have used them on one. Not saying that they don't stick to melamine but I don't have any tanks like that so I wouldn't know.

I guess you know more then I do..I never tried to stick them to plex..Good to know.
