When Do You Guys...?

... start pairing up your hogs? I've got a normal pair that I plan to put together in a few more weeks.

I don't place them together until after their first post-brumation shed. I also pair them after their second and third shed (or I until see obvious signs of gravidity, especially if I haven't actually witnessed copulations. In general, the timing of breeding hoggies does not seem to be as straightforward as corns and kings.

For me, the majority of my females breed as soon as they are put together right out of brumation. However, some lay a month after brumation and some wait longer.

Thanks guys. Seems like Brad said; no exact science to breeding them. My female has not shed yet, so I'll probably wait til mid April.
