Tried a spot today we got skunked at a couple weeks ago that had a LOT of promise, and glad we did.

While out there a couple weeks ago, I spread out a bunch of boards that were all piled up, and turned up 4 baby checkered garters just like this one:

Walking around back trying to avoid the MASSIVE fire ant population, I saw what appeared to be a LARGE red bull entering the broken down shed. I ran over and grabbed what was still exposed, but couldn't get him to turn around. (I'd guess around 4'-5' or so)

A peek inside through the planks of wood revealed another LARGE snake- both were Texas rat snakes, with a LOT of red!

Had to let go, ran around to the other side to get in, and they were long gone under the floor boards...

My son and I had a blast, and found another very promising spot that turned up nothing today, but we'll be back!

This letting go of the "Bull" didn't involve sudden blood loss by any chance did it?? ROFLMAO!

I may get to do some South Texas fielding next month. Will be going to Ft. Davis. Do you ever try around there, Tod?
