You mean the ivory eastern? That was caught two or three years ago. Already doing better than most of the ones I've heard of.
Ok "Ivory" (It looked luecistic to me).How do you know so much about it? You would think they would put in the ad that it has been in captivity for that long as a selling point. They also said they were unsure of the origin.
But thanks for the extra info!

I'm not 100% sure it is the same one. There were several caught in the past.
Anyway, a few years ago there was one caught in Florida, and another caught in Louisiana a few weeks/months later. I talked a bit with both of the owners, and the one from Louisiana was caught about 30 minutes from my house, and it took unscented mice with no problem. The ad in the classifieds is posted by a breeder about an hour away from me, so it's not too much of a stretch to think they ended up with the one from New Orleans.
Not sure why the origins would be unknown. Maybe the guy that caught it didn't tell them? If you dig through these forums a bit, both of the hogs I mentioned were posted here by the owners. Try searching in the 2007 and 2008 archives.
Looks more like a white sided to me.To bad it's not a western or
mexican. It would have been gone a long time ago.
Looked white sided to me as well. I happen to think the world of Easterns, but I can think of 15,000 reasons why I can't have that one.
The pic is one I owned for a while. He was one of the coolest dudes I have ever had.

I think they are all cool. I had some easterns eating unscented. Wish I could get a pair again. Here are some of my old hoggies

I never had any luck getting baby easterns to eat pinkies. I tried on 3 occasions and it never happened for me. They would only eat frogs, which was okay with me.
