Is there any difference in the temperment between the Spotted Python vs. Children's Python? Other than size, is there any reason one would be more difficult to keep?

Ive never had a childrens python, but my spotted can be a bastard sometimes. I love it though

wrong pic... my bad...

The main difference between spotteds and childrens is their size and coloration. They are both Antaresias and come from similar habitats, though childrens have been said to be more aborial than spotteds due to the fact that childrens often climb up cave walls to hunt roosting bats. If you want a snake that will always have a beautiful pattern than go with the spotted because, although they both have similar patterns as hatchlings spotteds will only get more beautiful with age. Childrens on the other hand will lose their pattern when they mature and some are almost patternless as adults. Also due to their smaller size childrens can be more difficult to feed as fuzzies are not always available year round (adult mice are). Finally, they both have wonderful temperments, they rarely if ever bite (I've never been bitten by one), and almost seem to enjoy being held. They both make great first pythons. Whichever you choose have fun and good luck!
