Gestation Question

KevinM Apr 06, 2010 09:33 PM

I bred my female okeetee on March 17th. She is an 08 I paired with my 08 okeetee male. This was the second time they were paired. The first time she was obviously fleeing and tail rattling like crazy. On March 17th, I paired them again and she was definitely submissive and I saw tails entwining slowly and purposefully! Well, its only April 6th and she is in deep shed. Could she be ready to lay that soon?? I plan to pair them up after this shed for good measure and see her reaction. It seems kind of soon for her to be gravid from that apparent copulation, but I quess it could happen. Any thoughts or experience with quick gestation periods?

Thanks All
KevinM

Ive Seen this before. Especially with young girls. If I were you Id put them together again after she sheds again. Just to be safe.

Thanks Steve. Since it is possible I wont blow it off and will provide her a nest box after she sheds. I was planning to pair her again with the male after she sheds (he is in shed too) just to be safe. Hopefully her reaction with the male will give me some type of clue as to what is going on with her LOL!!
