Gators don't usually become territorial until they are reaching maturity. For females this is usually about 5 to 6 feet, 10 to 15 years old. Males, same age or slightly younger, but a little bigger like 6 to 7 feet. Females can be the worst with territoriality and will often bully both males and other females. If a male and a female are raised together it is less likely that she will be aggressive toward him. I have yet to see a male be aggressive toward a female, but I suppose it may be possible. Even when females are raised together there will be competition for hierarchy when they are maturing. Even moreso if their body of water is small. The more space and larger body of water, the less competition there usually is for dominance of the pond. Some females will get along with other particular females, but not other certain individuals. Why this is I have no clue. Usually, once a like or dislike is established, it lasts forever. Especially if there is a mature male nearby that they both fancy. But I have had certain females take to one another and team up on other females and nothing I tried would lessen their conscious dislike for these other females. Only seperating them into their own environment solved the problem. And not always even then as the other bullyish females would still try to dig and climb to get at them through solid fences. If they could hear the female/s they don't like they try to get to them. Especially in springtime. But the females that accept each other always get along with each other, regardless of any factors. I find this very interesting because it demonstrates marked preferences, likes and dislikes. Reptiles with an opinion. Very interesting indeed. (i just know i will get half a dozen degree carrying herpetologists telling me this is impossible, lol)

But I think you have very little to worry about if your gators are only 2 feet. This would indicate that they are likely 1 to 3 years old and far from being mature. I think as long as the sizes of the gators stay relatively similar that there is nothing to worry about with putting them together.

True "power" is not to be found in social or economic placement or stature, which are merely illusory, finite, frail and brief.
True power is to be found in one's sheer will and personal determination to achieve one's goals at ANY cost and at ANY sacrifice.
