Baby Rack

thunderpaws Apr 08, 2010 03:43 PM

I am in the process of adding a baby rack that will be able to handle about 60 babies. I bought the Iris 6qt tubs. Does anyone know if there is a retail outlet to buy a book case that would fit that tub. Also, I am planning on using 3 inch flex watt for the hot spot. Any advice would be great. I really do not want to build one out of melamine board.

Thanks,
Bill

I know it isn't what you asked, but Animal Plastics produces a rack that uses the small iris tubs. You can request they build one as small or as large as you would like, and probably get a discount if you already have your own flexwatt set up to use in it. I'd recommend checking them out. Their racks have worked fantastically for us.

Hi,

Thanks for that info. I actually talked with Ally yesterday. We covered a few ideas. I am just at that point with my animals that every penny is counting. I think I am going to be able to put together a pretty sweet rack made out of a book shelf with some 3 inch flex put on it. I can build it for about 200 bucks, and it will hold 50 tubs. I know it will not last as long as a more quality product but it will keep costs down, which is what I am shooting for. The snakes will be just as happy and safe in the rack and that is mostly important with my husbandry. I built a CB 70 rack and it has been running great.

Thanks again for your reply,
Bill
