as a kid living in southern NJ i remember my lil bro running, screaming that there's a huge snake on the road. now mind you at the time we lived on a dirt road. low and behold it was a northern pine snake about 5 foot. i loved the snake, very peaceful and actually calm. i was only about 10 so i didn't even think about keeping it, plus i thought it was cool that i had something like that living in my backyard............which was acres of woods. now a few questions. i know i can not keep a northern as a pet, soooo.......how is the temperment (generally) of other pines? ie: southern, mexican, depi, jani. or even bulls or gophers? i have a few boas, corns, milks and have kept reptiles for years but have never gotten into bulls, pines or gophers. my girlfriend loves the corns and milks as does my daughter who also loves the boas. she has no ferar. i don't want to get something that may shell shock either.

My yearling bull (no longer a baby bull! LOL!)Alfonzo has the sweetest temperament of all my pituophis. He comes out and tries to follow me around when he is hungry. He is a Kingsville red x hypo Stillwater bull. His sister is also nice, although a bit shy. I have a big sub adult Pacific gopher, Gonzo, who is extremely mellow. Lorenzo, my male sub adult Pacific gopher, is very sweet. His sister Zumbida is shy but nice. Then I have some snarky Pacific gopher babies but they are mellowing out with gentle frequent handling. Oh, and I have one wc Pacific who is so gentle and tame you'd never think she was a rescue from the jaws of death (feral cat).

These are the only pituophis I have, so I can't speak for any other kinds of pits.
