Sounds like a good snake. Strong feeding response is a good thing.

Also means the babies it will produce may have that as well. Nothing worse than finicky hard to get started feeders.

A king may move a man, a father may claim a son. But remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice.

in the words of my generation, quoted for much truth. Have you done any selective breeding for feeding responses, and if so, how'd it go? How many generations for it to really show up? ----- We wouldn't have 6 and a half billion people if you had to be beautiful to get laid. 6.6 African House snakes 3.2 reticulated pythons .1 corn snake 4.2 Florida Kings 1.2 speckled kings 1.2 ball pythons 0.0.1 Argentine boa

Early this spring after he broke his 5 month winter fast my 07 wc Cali king actually bit me for the very first time since I got him in May 08. I had transferred him to another habitat because his old tank got broken, and the first time I went to get him out of the much bigger sterilite tub, he was a bit of a hassle to catch. Usually I can just pick him up, but a combination of being hungry and having new places to hide in put him in a snarky mood, and he bit me. He was mainly angry at getting caught by The Hand. This season he is eating without fail every time, not like the previous sporadic years. He has not bitten me again, and is back to his gentle self.

Besides being hungry spring has lots of new and different smells. A coming of age male may be territorial or even over sexed. If you had picked up a female prior you may recieved "the tender bite" being mistaken for a female.....These bites can be alot different from a feeding bite, males actually "gum" you. Holding on without breaking the skin, its the equivilant to a kiss, lol.
