I've been laid up with a good case of pneumonia since the week before easter but I finally felt good enough to go and actually DO something today. I went to a nature reserve called Wildcat Bluff in Amarillo. It's usually a good spot but today wasn't that hot. Still, at least I finally did *something*. Found a few dozen leopard frogs and maybe 10, 12 little lizards (Haven't keyed them out, I think Sceloporus undulatus. Also saw a jay which is pretty cool, some robins and a hawk I can't ID.

I only took pictures of one of each-they were all the same species, and my batteries were dying

Gld to hear you're up and about. Posts from you folks herpin' out in TX are some of the best and most interesting because of the wide variety of herpetofauna in the state. Happy herpin'.

I think its a Southern Prarie lizard. I get quite a few of those here, along with Texas Spineys'.

Went out for round 2 to Palo Duro. Totally skunked on herps--not even a lizard. Did see about 20 deer, scattered in groups of 2-3. So it was still cool.
