Hi there,

I haven't been able to find much info on the net either, for a similar species. I did find a book on swifts and spiny lizards, by Bartlett & Barlett. That's the only help I can offer as I've never worked with Collards.

Good luck.

Collared swifts are one of the larger species. Care is the same for any of the s.west US Sceloporous species, 90-100 degree basking spot, 70-75 degree cool end of the enclosure. Be sure to provide a good source of UVB, some of the newer mercury vapor bulbs seem to be working great for the herp community, so I would go with one of those. Be sure to have only one male per enclosure, these guys will fight til the other male dies. I have found collareds to be not an exception wonderful Spiny lizards. They make easy to care for and fascinating animals for the novice and old timer alike.
