can a URI be passed like the common cold or can it only be caught through improper heating and humidity.

....The latter is far more common, with inproper environmental conditions precipitating infection with existing 'normal flora'. The best example of "catching a URTI" is with paramyxovirus, passed by aerosol inhalation. Hope this helps.

Did Serpentcity just say a ball can get a URI just by breathing aerosol fumes?!? please reply

it had nothing to do with inhaling aerosol. the word aerosol means "a suspension of fine solid or liquid particles in gas", examples would be smoke, mist, saliva containing a virus or bacteria. im pretty sure a vet wasnt talking about hairspray in a can.

You asked if your ball can get URI like a cold or if it is a side effect of sub-optimal conditions.

He simply said that MOST of the time URI is caused by sub-optimal conditions / environmental problems.

But in reference to your question: "can a URI be passed like the common cold" he gave you an example of an airborn virus (paramyxovirus) that causes RI.

Take care.
