First time King breeder...

borneoguy Apr 13, 2010 06:58 PM

How long should it take for my banana cali king (male), and albino cali king (female) to line up their cloaca and finally get 'er done (so to speak). I've been introducing them for the last few days, and they seem to be trying...but when they get snippy I separate them for obvious reasons. Anyone got a rough idea of how long it should take my male to find the females cloaca? He's everted his hemipenes trying to get in her a couple of times. Thanks.

From what I've learned over the past couple of weeks, Don't worry about the biting. I'm a new guy at breeding kings myself so I'm just trying to reiterate what I've been told. If you scroll down you'll see questions about MBK's. That was me so those post's should answer most of your questions. Steve

Oh my! POoor snakes. Just think of the biting as foreplay. Just when it gets good someone comes and seperates you. The next time you get together you may just be a bit more rough than the last time. LOL!

A king may move a man, a father may claim a son. But remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice.

Continue to pair them up.....
If the female is letting him get that far she will eventually "open up" for him....She may not be ovulating just yet......

Yeah,...and certain male individuals can be more clumsy about it than other's too. Just think back to when you were a kid with the "babes"..LOL!

I've had to freakin reach down and help some snake's out before with getting their tails properly aligned before. I got sick of sitting there forever and ever watching his clumsy attempts...LOL!. He was so intent, he didn't even notice I was manually changing their positions all around, and it worked out great in short order.

And NO! to the original poster, I don't recommend that you go in there and do this, they will get the job done just fine soon.
