Hes sick or something. I have owned many turtles and ive never seen a turtle do this. He is just floating around at the top of the water kind of lop-sided. I feed them reptomin everyday and have good light and tank. For like 6 months this turtle did not eat anything until about 3 weeks ago. Please help if this is a sign of something not good.

That is a sign of a respritory infection. He needs to see a vet and get antibiotics, or it will probably be fatal.

Do you think maybe its is from a smoky household?

Well, generally it is caused by improper temps, I don't think there have been any studies of the effects of smoke on reptiles. It can't be good for them tho, they are much smaller than humans and have a more delicate respritory system, so I would guess that the smoke could have something to do with it.

thanks for the info. I also have two northern diamondback terr.'s and lately i have noticed they kind of "squeel", or a high pitched whistle when they breathe. Is this something as well? I am definetely going to the vet though.

Yes, that is also a sign of respritory infection.
