Day old jungle and parents photos

Sharpman Apr 17, 2010 03:20 PM

As requested by some, here are the parents of the Jungle litter I produced 2 days ago
This is the dam , I produced her in 2004 from a common x common breeding , she stood out in a litter of over 40 so i decide to hold her back

The sire was produced by Bill Kirby and after seeing him advertised I just had to have him

and here are some of the jungles born two days ago

this one is certainly not going anywhere

then im keeping one more , one of the next two i think

and here are some of the others

twins

this one seems so much more darker than the other jungles and im wondering if its just a very aberrant normal , please give your opinions as to weather you think its a jungle or not

here it is with some others so you can see how dark it is

one last query , does any of you think this last one is a jungle or not ? any help will be gratefully received

thanks for any advice

Kev

Really great Parents and great litter, was the father / sire het
Anery by any chance ?

This darker one does leave you guessing a little although
Jungle IMO but one of the darker phase jungle types

Definite Jungle IMO but also looks like a Wanna be Anery or Het Anery

After they shed it should be even more clear

I would say the last one with the anery look is a definite jungle as well. The darker one with stripe is a 50/50 chance. It doesn't have the look to me. Great litter-

I totally agree with Lee Mathew that the last one is a Jungle , but the abberant one above it is pretty questionable as being a Jungle.

Those are real jungles.. Im tired at looking at normal jungles. Nice job on mixing up the funk, lol

Disregard my post in your first post asking about the parents ... for those babies to come from a normal on one side is really saying something about the genes inside the Kirby Jungle. Great job and GREAT jungles!!!!!

Congratulation on a great litter. I think those jungles look great. This is a good example of an aberrant parent producing predominantly aberrant babies. I think these will become really colorful based on the genetics of the two parents.

Here is a picture of that male as a baby. The mother was from a Ronne pastel x red group breeding. I bred a motley to her for about a month. I put a jungle male in with her for a day to see if he was interested in breeding because he was ignoring another female. When the litter was born I think I had 9 jungles and only five motleys. This male was the best jungle from the litter.

Congratulations again.

Thanks for posting that photo Bill , its great to see what he was like when born , I bet its nice to see the ones you have produced yourself go on to produce some top quality jungles , I am sure im correct in saying these are some of the best if not the best jungles produced in the UK to date

kirby Apr 18, 2010 08:48 PM

It is very satisfying to see a litter like that. I haven't produced a litter with nearly as many aberrant jungles as yours so it is sweet to see that male produce such a nice litter with that nice female. Congratulations again on one of the nicer jungle litters I have seen.

Thanks , I don't suppose you have a photo of the jungle that produced mine , I would be very interested to see what he was like
