hello, i have a pair of unrelated cave dwellers that are personal pets. they are my first ridleyi. have had them since hatchlings, almost 2 yrs. i am hoping to have some hatchlings. will probably take them and hook up a couple friends that have been admiring them as they have grown. pics are a yr old. i will update soon. they have a lot more color now
i cooled them this winter, once it warmed up, i introduced them. they slithered and scurried for almost an hour till they finally locked up. they were locked up for several hours.
am looking for some advice, if you all would be so kind.
1)how long to leave them together
2)temps and humidity for eggs. any simple incubation setup recomendations?
thanks
p.s. i was so inspired when i saw them link up that i wrote a poem about it. i know..... kinda cheesy, but the chicks dig it. lol thought i would share. hope you enjoy...

"when ricky met lucy"
"when ricky met lucy
it was not love at first sight.
lucy fled and crawled
long into the night.
jp worried and fretted.
he paced through the house,
but nothing could detour ricky,
not even a mouse.
ricky followed and flirted,
he would not let her go.
he slithered and riggled,
putting on quite a show.
lucy played hard to get,
but by the end of the night,
they were quite a tangle.
it was really a sight.
i'm hoping and praying
she lays some eggs soon.
little cave dwelling rat snakes only come around
once in a blue moon.
lucy will watch them hatch
but then will not care.
i will have to step in to nurture
like only grandpa jp may dare.
please, don't be jealous
of my coldblooded crew.
when the babies hatch
i'll save a pair just for you.
i hope you have enjoyed
this poem of love.
ricky and lucy,
a match made from above...."
