Python ban thought

psudocromis Apr 18, 2010 09:49 PM

So the federal goverment is trying to push down laws to the state. We should all keep part of the constitution in mind when we talk with our goverment reps, and heres some grounds for repeal if hell freazed over and we need to use it..

heres what the constitution says...

Amendment 10
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor
prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to
the people.

So where does it say in the constitution that the feds can regulate the pet trade? It does not, so the regulations must fall with the states. so if florida wants to ban they can and california does not its up to them and their voters.

I agree, the problem is here in Florida. Why does everyone have to suffer the ban nation wide when it happens to be one state. Yeah I live in Florida and I understand the problem. The way it appears to me is that a large number of animal activist release large snakes into the wild and then called with complaints about the said animals. I know sounds a little far fetched,or does it? Why has this problem just came to light this year? If there were snakes the size they claim to have found in south Florida, it would take those snakes years to get that big. Why haven't those snake surfaced until now? I know they find a snake here and there, but the way they make the problem out to be is just crazy. Our winters will kill off most of the tropical snakes that do get loose, last winter has proved that. It is just an idea. I just dont think every state should have a ban imposed, they need to make the irresponsible reptile owners liable for releasing these snakes.
