Anyone see the dwarf on display at the kansas city show? If so please reply and if you took any pics, please post.. I couldnt be there so tell me how it went over. I heard it was pretty exciting. I will post some more pictures where you can see the lumps in here.. She should pop any time, she is so huge.. More pics coming soon...

Thanks for your time.

How do you prove a dwarf, just wondering? Anyway, she is less than 5' long and is gravid. We bred her and she is ready to lay any day, looks weird tonight, she may lay tonight. Plus we already have eggs from a 5 1/2' female. The males that we bred were around 3 1/2-4'. The gravid female weighs 9.5 lbs. They were all caught in the wild in an isolated locality. The eggs are smaller than ball pythons eggs, I would guess that would make the babies smaller or near the size of balls.

Once these are bred into all the burm morph we think they will be very popular, like the dwarf retics, but there are more burm morphs and more people like burms than retics. We will be able to keep burms in rack systems, which is great for space. We had a male on display at the kansas city show and people loved it.. Its new and some arent yet convinced, but wait till we have babies at some of the bigger shows later this year!!

Feel free to ask more questions or ask for more pictures..
Thanks a lot

I believe what Andrew meant by proven (because I was wondering the same thing myself) is have they been bred before and if so, were the offspring also dwarfs? I'm assuming that this is the first breeding of these. I have to admit, I'm a bit skeptical myself. I hope that these egg do hatch out to be true dwarfs though. It would certainly open up the burm world to alot of people that just don't have space to keep these giants (although them being so large is part of enjoyment of it.) Good luck and keep us posted of the resulting offspring. Take care, Scott.

Ok, I got ya.. Ya this is the first breeding in the world. I can tell you that by the size of these eggs, there is NO way a normal sized baby burm will come out. Why would the babies be normal sized anyway, all the burms from this locality were dwarves, they evolved to be dwarf just like the retics. The retics babies have out grown the wild caugth adults, but not by much, Of course in captivity they will get lots more food. Even with all that food they still only got a few feet bigger than the wild caught adults.

Anyway, I will keep you all posted and I hope when these babies hatch out it will finally convince everyone.. I know the best known burmese breeder believes it. I will have the babies at some of the bigger shows that are left for this year too.
Ok Scott, thanks
I will post more pictures soon..
