Update on my toads! Pictures!

BryanR. Sep 21, 2003 09:38 PM

All 4 of my FBT's are still doing great, some of them are about 4 years old now, probally around 5 though. Here is some of the latest pictures of their tank, I have a TON of those plants in there, they grow great. There just branches from our 2 Potho potted plants in the back yard. I just cut a vine off or something and stick it in the water, and walla. I have plants in there that have grown, and lived for over a year now. They do great, they just dont die. Its my best recomendation for a set up like this. Also, its a 29 gallon tank, and I feed my toads outside of the tank to keep things cleaner.

its a great looking set up but how do you keep it clean toads are waste producing machines.I keep green toads in a planted terrarium but the plants are on raised clay flowerpots with soil on tank bottom wich is changed alot.your tank I imagine thats impossible to do it looks great do the plants filter the waste?

to plant the pothos in water, do you just place the vine in the water and it grows? or do you use aquatic soil? i love the way it looks, any info would be appreciated. thanks.

You can put potho clippings in the water and they will grow like MAD!!! You can also rinse ALL dirt from the roots, trim the roots down and put them in the water as well. Either way, in a few weeks you'll have nice harty pothos rooting down in the water and thriving!!!

I LOVE pothos!!

Yup, I just clip off some of longer vines, the ones my mom will let me take, and place them in the water. They just dont die, they grow grow grow.

Yeah, that's what I love about pothos. That and the fact that they don't even need much light. I had one potted once at the bottom landing of a stairwell in a townhouse I was living in... no direct light at all, heck not even much light at all and that one was my fullest and greenest!!! And they grow FAST!

>>You confused me on that question...

I think that it's because in your photo, there is a small, red, coin-filled dish in front of your set-up. ;-}
