Is it too late in the season? Nope!

AbsoluteApril Apr 20, 2010 02:43 PM

What a wonderful season this has been so far for so many people, so many gorgeous babies have been produced, some never before seen! It's all so exciting!

Every few weeks we see the post 'is it too late'? So I figured I'd share a quick vid.

My first pair finished a while ago and the female is actually due in 4 weeks but this pair is still going strong. I saw copulation for the very first time too, another milestone!

Vid also shows some sexual dimorphism, the male looks so tiny with her! Nothing all that exciting or ground breaking for me baby wise, but these are just part of a long term project I am working on.

Enjoy and hope everyone continues to have a terrific season!

P.S. TC - this is the hypo harli male I mentioned below in your 'worthy not worthy thread'

>>Lemondrop is a BIG girl... WOW.. how much does she weigh and how long is she..?

Last time I took her stats was in 2002, she was just at 6ft and 22lbs. Original owner had powerfed her like crazy so she was on a diet for quite a few years. I estimate her to be between 7-7.5ft now, no idea on the weight. She's my second biggest, second oldest female.

Thanks for the well wishes Cilene!

I'm only making hets with this pairing (Redboy isn't het anything). I'm quite a few years away from making my first sunglows, but when I do.. they will be harlequin sunglows with a double dose of Zahara's high pink blood in the mix. It's taking so long because I'm trying to outcross the albino genes a bit first. I sure hope it's worth the wait!
Thanks Larry!!

Cool video!

Your videos are getting better & better. You're a pro reptile
videographer.

Lemondrop is HUGE. I can't tell how big the male is because she
is so big. Do I have that guy's brother?

If I do, he's much bigger than that guy. I will have two litters
sired by him this summer. Both are F1 hypos, one was with an F3
pastel hypo, and the other with a hypo harlequin.

You've inspired me, I need to make some videos when my girls
have their babies. My fingers are crossed for jungle snows and
moonglows, but I'll be happy with anery & ghost jungles.

hee! thanks! Practice makes perfect, hopefully I'll just keep getting better.

Yup, you have his brother, and I cannot wait to see what you produce with him! My Redboy is pretty small, I'd say 4' or just under and thickness is somewhere between a red-bull can and a can of coke. He's the only male I kept, I also kept 3 of their sisters.

I do grow my boas slow but it seems like I kept back all the runts. I sold two of their siblings last year and they were both bigger than the ones I still have. Ah well. Hopefully in 1-2 more years one of the females will be big enough to try.

Good luck, can't wait to see the VIDEOS you make of your babies once they hit the ground.

Thanks Dan! I will!

Awesome picture as always! Have you done much field herping this year? My friend found an awesome adult pacific gopher snake this weekend and I had to remind her to watch out for the rattlesnakes! (she doesn't know much at all about snakes).

It's never to late. That's a nice pairing April and I also liked your video. I know you want to be a grandma but don't you think you're kind of young to be one lol.
Good luck with all your kids.
