I recently found a large female sonoran gopher snake in west Texas on April 10th. I was just wondering if she may be gravid? Do the generally breed earlier or later in the spring?
Thanks

I believe pituophis, like most other north american snakes, breed within the first few weeks of coming out of hibernation. So it just depends on when that occurs there... my bet is March. So it's possible she may be gravid.
