Found a bunch today.

Look close for the rattlesnake

Another one you have to look close for

Look at how messed up the bulls face is! I'm sure it is completely blind. Pretty sad.

I saw probably 100 painted turtles today, mostly babies, but didnt get any good pics.

Thanks for looking

Nice. It looks like things are finally starting to emerge in your part of town. I like the Bull Snake/Rattlesnake "buddy system" photo and the Garter.

I've never seen a large number of baby turtles in a natural situation all in one place. I wonder what's up with that.

Cool pics!

Very nice as usual, Dan.

Weather here is cooking up for a VERY promising weekend of herping!

Todd,

You were my lucky charm today guy! Right after I read that thing about board flipping, I went to take my Mom's Pug for his walk. I took a brief detour down a dirt back alley & flipped some boards.
7 Smooth Earthsnakes Virginia sp.
1 Sonora semiannulata Ground snake ( Almost a lifer, though I've seen one once before)
8 snakes in 5 minutes searching. More than my whole year so far! LOL
Sadly, I also noted the other day, a Texas Rat that got blown out of a tree, apparently during the storm Saturday morning. It was dead but unmarked. Sigh, two dead ones. I just want a live one for a decent photo!

Dan,

Man, good thing you didn't reach in there for that poor old Bullsnake! He seems to have a bodyguard! LOL
