Wow, looks like she ate a big rat.......

rainbowsrus Apr 23, 2010 03:23 AM

Was cleaning and separating for a feed and found Ann in a hide box with a huge swelling in her mid section. Hmmm, she last ate 19 days ago, that lump is not a rat!!! Bred by Baroque, a pearl sided male!!!

That's what I like to see, big ovulation swells!!!!

haha good to see Dave.
I actually logged onto to comment on the same thing.
I had 2 females today, that appeared to be ovulating, that or they ate rats that i didnt give them!!
plus another girl has gone opaque, with her last shed only being a few weeks ago, so a possible POS.
i paired all mine about a month earlier than yours it seems, and have now seen action from every pairing, some was from the first day i paired them, and some others just recently.
Another thing in noticed, was i have two adult females, that while are easily old enough, still need another year of weight. And they have both gone off feed for the last month. Weird.

Cheers

I was just about to log on and ask the question this thread is about. I have seen 4 of my females locked up. When I separate and put back with a male they dont snuggle anymore. My females are in the blue but they are all still eating. Is that normal? What other clues can I look for? Should I continue to place with males.

Matt,
...Let them mate for as long as they will. Sometimes they will quit mating but restart if the female sheds are the weather turns rainy.
Good luck,
Jeff
