Need help and suggestions on lost baby corn in car

barker109 Sep 21, 2003 10:45 PM

Hi Folks,
I bought my first every Albino corn snake today. When I got home the box(that had the snake in it)was empty. we've searched the car the best we can. Lots of places to hide. The bad thing is I don't even know if it's in the car. It was in the box on the counter for some time while I picked up other supplies. The only thing I can think to do is put a light in the car to see if it might seek out the heat. The cars in the garage but it's suppose to get into the 50's tonight. Anyway, if anyone has suggestions or feels putting the light in the car is a good idea, please let me know. We're pretty upset right now!
Much thanks,
Take care,
Karen

If you have power in your garage, put a human heating pad on low in the car (put the wire through the window so the door isn't left open. Not sure if a stressed baby would want to eat or not, but you can also try leaving a pinkie under a hide on the floorboards. Search that car up and down...EVERYWHERE that you think a snake could or could not go...and call the store to let them know. If nothing else, they are responsible for not packaging the snake correctly. GOOD LUCK!

Lost in a car...I think there are more places in a car to hide for a baby snake than in a room...places to check, under mats, seats (between the runners, the steat and console, or arm rest), under the pedals, under the back seat, in the crack between the coshions at the back of each seat. Every single little storage pocket you car has, glove compartments, around the steering column. Hopefully it didn't crawl up into the wiring behind the dash..or the vents. Just some of the places I can think of where a small snake can hide.

I read somewhere to sprinkle flour on the floor if you loose your snake and if he crawls through the flour you will see that he was in that room or not. Might work in the car too, you might figure out if hes in there or not.
